    Rear Disc Brake conversion 78 Ford Bronco

    This is a multi use brake system. The instruction did not work as written. I had to change the procedure for mounting the axle retainers.
    Also had to reuse the ford axle retainer bolts due clearance issues. not a big deal.
    Every thing else seem Ok, until I had to mount the calipers. Instead of the left going on the left side, the calipers had to be switched to the other side and turned upside down for clearance and other issues, mainly because of the factory emergency brake cable, which is still a problem, getting it to work properly.
    I also had to grind off a bit of metal inside the caliper for the rotor to clear, again not a big issue,
    The issues I don't like is that the caliper only covers about half of the rotor surface. Second issue I didn't like is that they SSBC couldn't have use the same rotor that's on the front which would have made replacement /upgrade easier and cheaper, and more options available..( cross drilled- slotted rotors)

    Over all the brakes work good for it's application.
    The Full size Bronco weigh over 4000 lbs, which is why I switched to rear disc, as well as better off road safety, and weather conditions. I would have liked a better caliper than the T-Bird Style rear calipers, and brake lines. The factory lines need to be cut and flared to use the supply brake hoses from the kit. I choose to go with braided lines for the rear which I had specially made for me.
    For the price is OK, I got the the kit from Summit.
    The question is would I go this route again, My answer is yes, but for the cost there might be a better way.
